A legendary stage play which will shake the 21st century Tokyo will be born this summer!
Jez Butterworth made a spectacular debut in British theater in the 1990s. He worked together with other scriptwriters on the script of "007/Spectre" and attracted a lot of attention from Hollywood filmmaking community.
The legendary stage play "MOJO", his maiden work, won the Olivier Award for Best New Comedy which is the highest honor in British theater. Now it will be shown in Japan for the first time with a strongest cast!
In this play with excellent rhythm and fast-paced conversations, those extremely shady young men's mental unstable state fully reveals.
Go Aoki has created the acting copy and will serve as the director of this masterpiece by Butterworth "who is recognized as the Quentin Tarantino of the British theater". He will definitely bring freshness to this excellent work!
The story happens in the late 1950s when rock and roll culture was in its glory.
At Club Atlantic in London, a 17-year-old star singer named Silver Johnny is on the road to fame and fortune. In the fight for the ownership of this singer, the tension between a local gang and the club owner is growing.
However, no one sees this disturbing signs. Gang at the club show their passion only in silly chat and everyday drinking.
Then on that summer day, a crime occurs.
All people in the club fall into terrible unease except the club owner's son Baby who is surprisingly calm.
In a swirl of distrust and cheat, the fated night is coming…
